NepalIsrael.com : The Embassy of Nepal in Tel Aviv marked Nepal’s National Day and Constitution Day with a grand event held in Herzliya. The celebration saw the participation of over 70 attendees, including foreign diplomats, senior officials from the Israeli government, business figures, Israeli nationals, and members of the Nepali community.
Mr. Kumar Bahadur Shrestha, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy, addressed the gathering, highlighting Nepal’s journey toward constitutional development, with a special emphasis on the promulgation of the new constitution in 2015 following the second people’s revolution in 2006. He also spoke about the enduring and mutually beneficial bilateral relations between Nepal and Israel, particularly noting Israel’s contributions to various sectors in Nepal.
The Chief Guest of the event, H.E. Mr. Gil Haskel, Chief of State Protocol at Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, extended his congratulations to Nepal and its people on the occasion of Constitution Day. He expressed best wishes for continued prosperity and happiness for the Nepali people and reaffirmed Israel’s commitment to supporting Nepal. Mr. Haskel also mentioned Israel’s ongoing efforts to secure the release of Mr. Bipin Joshi, a Nepali student currently held hostage in Gaza.
The event featured a presentation on the Annapurna Himal by Mr. Nadav Ben Yehuda, Honorary Consul of Nepal, aimed at promoting Nepal’s tourism. Additionally, a cultural dance performance by Ms. Nita Raut captivated the audience, adding a vibrant touch to the celebration.
The event was hosted by Mr. Sanjay Kumar Shah, Attaché of the Embassy, and concluded successfully with a display of Nepali culture and strong diplomatic ties between the two nations.
