President Isaac Herzog responded to the double murder in the northern village of Sawaa’ad Hamira, stating: “33 murdered in Arab society since the beginning of the year. This is not ‘sector statistics,’ this is a painful Israeli tragedy.” The president added that “the time has come to wake up. The blood spilled in the streets of Arab society is the blood of the state’s citizens, and the rampant crime is a clear and immediate danger to the security of Israeli society as a whole. This is a national emergency.”
