New IDF chief blocks promotion of IDF spokesperson, saying will retire

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir decided not to promote IDF spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, who will retire from the army in the coming weeks, the military confirmed Friday.

Hagari, who has served as the public face of the IDF during the ongoing war in Gaza, will step down after completing his tenure. Zamir praised Hagari’s performance as “professional and dedicated,” according to a statement.
