Israel is a sovereign state, I haven’t made a decision on pardoning

President Isaac Herzog responded to U.S. President Donald Trump’s remarks against him, in which Trump said he should be ‘ashamed’ of himself for not granting a pardon to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Herzog said: “The president will examine the request according to the law, the good of the state, according to his conscience and without any influence from external or internal pressures of any kind. President Herzog appreciates President Trump for his significant contribution to the State of Israel and its security. Israel is a sovereign state of law. Contrary to the impression created by President Trump’s remarks, President Herzog has not yet made any decision on the matter.”
