New York City mayoral candidate and self-identified Israel supporter Andrew Cuomo called for an immediate end to the war in Gaza, which he described as “horrific.” In an interview with The New York Times, Cuomo, who previously served as New York State governor and is trailing in polls behind anti-Israel candidate Zohran Mamdani, clarified that “I never stood with Bibi” – despite previously joining the legal team that defended him at the International Criminal Court in The Hague (ICC). However, Cuomo criticized Mamdani for declaring he would try to arrest Netanyahu if he visited the city.
